Mountain Lake was inspired by Pineview Reservoir, tucked into the mountains of northern Utah, where the Wasatch rises around broad stretches of blue water and the shoreline changes with the seasons.
It is a place that can feel entirely different from one hour to the next.
Morning often belongs to stillness. The surface holds the light before the day has fully begun, and the mountains seem closer in their reflection than they do across the water. Later, wind moves down from the surrounding slopes and breaks that reflection apart. The lake brightens. Water reaches the shore in small, repeating waves.
By evening, everything begins to settle again.
Perhaps that is what stays with you most.
Not simply the view, but the way a wide stretch of water creates space inside a mountain landscape. The horizon moves farther away. The air feels cooler. Sound travels differently. For a little while, there seems to be more room for everything.
Mountain Lake was created to hold that sense of openness.
Fresh air and cool water give the fragrance its clarity. Green notes recall the vegetation along the shoreline, while woods and earth bring the surrounding mountains quietly back into the composition. Nothing needs to dominate. Like the landscape itself, the fragrance finds its character in the space between water, forest and sky.
